Rietz Consultants, Ltd. has completed design for partial exterior restoration of Friley Hall in five phases of construction. These phases of restoration have focused on the most severely deteriorated portions of the building. After careful evaluation and documentation of each of the areas to be restored, improvements included removal and replacement of deteriorated face brick; repair of stone deterioration with restoration mortars, epoxy injection and in some instances complete replacement; mortar joint cutting and pointing; masonry cleaning and waterproofing; reglazing, cleaning and painting of steel windows; removal and replacement of sealants; removal and replacement of roofing systems; removal and replacement of plaza decks, drainage, and waterproofing systems; and removal and replacement of exterior concrete stairs.
